12. Unusual Physical Manifestations when Wesley Preaches

During the great awakening these manifestations were, at times, common. This raised the question as to how they should be approached and managed by the leaders of the work.

11. Wesley encounters the "King of Bath." He calls the whole world his Parish.

John Wesley had an interesting encounter with Beau Nash in Bath. Nash was known as the "King of Bath", and famous for the parties that he arranged for high society.
Rebuked by one for preaching in other men's parishes, Wesley makes his famous claim that the whole world is his parish.

10. Consenting to Become More Vile: Wesley's move into open air evangelism.

Wesley's move to the open air as his main sphere of operation was an historic move. This is good encouragement for those who are considering such ministry in our own day.

9. The Ministry begins. Preaching the Gospel widely in England.

Having returned from a visit to Germany, Wesley begins in earnest, his itinerate evangelistic ministry. He continues to suffer cancellation by many churches.
We have here the account of the conversion of a prisoner on death row, and an account of a woman of the "French Prophets", whose activity looks a lot like that of the Charismatics of today.
