31. A great hunger for God in Epworth and Newcastle.

Wesley announced to five or six, that he would return to preach in the evening. When he did so a huge crowd had gathered. Such was the hunger for God in Newcastle.

 

Wesley visited Epworth where he had been born and where his father had ministered for 40 years. He found the same hunger for God as in Newcastle.

 

Famously, Wesley preached standing on his father's tomb.
